Reading Boating Centre

Our Reading site offers good availability throughout the week between 10am and 2pm, operating a single skerry.

We operate from the Reading Sea Cadets Boating Centre on Blakes Lock Island on the River Kennet, close to where it meets the River Thames. When you are on Kennetside you need to cross over the lock gates to the island, and the boating centre is to the right of the lock-keeper's house.

Arriving by road: Parking is available by pre-arrangement in Reading College. The entrance is on Ortis Road. From there, it is a 3 minute walk to Blakes Lock.

Toilets: There is one toilet available in Blakes Lock Island
